Dinner with the ncc pals at cafe iguana!

An extremely red and sleepy Pet after her beer, which they forgot to charge us for

Kwok and I with our leftovers

I personally endorse mango magaritas at cafe iguana!

It's tastes so darn good and is absolutely value for money when you get it at half price.. 18 per jug or 4.50 per glass - which makes it even cheaper than starbucks latte! We ordered burritos, taco and chimichangas.. which we could not finish in the end..

Post iguana shots, guess who made a guest appearance!

Today marks the 5th day of consecutive drinking for me. But it was worth a go since it's st james powerhouse we're talking abt. it's a bit like the MOS concept with different outlets catering to the different music genres. the difference lies in the fact that SJPH uses a lot more life performances - both the gd and the bad, unfortunately.

Dragonfly plays canto/mandopop, which sounds really cool but the performance today was really... bad. the girls werent pretty AND they cant sing for nuts. one of them was screeching into the mic like half the time, so it was like.. ugh, our poor ears. then they had bizarre acrobatic acts every now and then with girls coming on stage to play hoolahoops.. like wth.

Boiler room plays R&B and thankfully, the performers werent half bad at all. Winner of Sg idol 2nd season was the guest performer. This seems the most promising room and i suspect sai may like this quite a bit!

Sistah's bday at Modesto's! Check out her lovely cream colored dress!

Christmas came and gone.. just in a flash. Leaving behind loads of chocolates, 3 tubs of icecream and lots of memories! Thanks to everyone who took the time and effort to come down for the party and thanks for bringing along a present as well! A pity the weather sucked that evening but i hoped you guys enjoyed urselves!

Anyhow, here are the long awaited x'mas party pics!

With da whole group!

With the 4 gd frens!

With the game theory proj group! (minus WL)

It was after this project that Deb swore an oath to put in nothing less than her best effort in every single project she undertakes from then on.. I love oaths. Needless to say, she was recruited into every single one of my proj groups after that. ;)

With my ex platoonmates.

Thanks so much for helping out with the events gals.. They were among the first to arrive and last to leave..

With our presents

On the left, WL who brought the panadol for menstruation and sanitary pads as the gift for x'mas exchange. On the right, the unlucky victim who fell prey to the yucky present.

Felt kinda bad for the victim (my sister's classmate) who has always been a staunch Buddhist and has never celebrated x'mas. This is the first time he's attending a x'mas party and he got such an absurd gift in return.. Mr Unlucky victim is also known as Mr. 11 A1s, the top guy in class..

Thursday was calorie explosion day.

zaru udon for breakfast at taka food court.
This is an absolutely value-for-money meal, it's great-tasting and goes for only $3.50.(Had to replenish energy after mng-sale shopping. btw, do their clothes this season suck or suck!? bought NOTHING at a mng sale for the first time in history.)

River Valley prawn noodle for lunch.
(My dad has a habit of naming his dishes after the location where they're prepared. For eg, if he cooks chicken rice, then it's called River Valley chicken rice. and if yong tau foo, it's River Valley yong tau foo... you get the pic, duh)

Beach road Char Kway Teow for tea.
(According to jKy, it's supposedly famous. I wonder why a char kway teow with so much veggie can be so loved. c'mon, isnt it supposed to be an extremely unhealthy dish?)

tang yuan for late afternoon dessert

Tsuke ramen at Miharu's for dinner
It's a pretty popular place for ramen, many Japanese patronize this shop.

Nachos with tons of Magarita at Cafe Iguana
Kinda over-ordered because Deb wasnt feeling so well, that left 3 jugs to be shared by the remaining 3 ppl

Guess this explains why i am down with a sore throat and feeling all yucky now. ugh.

Anyway, do check your emails folks! I've sent out the invitation for the X'mas party on 22nd Dec 2006, 6.30pm next Friday at my place. Included directions on how you can get there! Expect loads of fun and food~

If any of you are willing to contribute extra food or dessert, do let me know too! it will be MUCH appreciated! =D

I guess i forgot to mention this in my email, but pls come dressed in the festive colors, that is, red or green, or both if you want to!

Words fail me whenever i try to describe China. For now, she remains a confused nation, to me at least. Her architecture seems most paradoxical in nature - western vs chinese, modern vs oriental. You'll need to make a trip down to Beijing Road to see this, but do not be mistaken, that street is actually in Shanghai instead. All hail the communist nation with a capitalist economy. When will the paradox ever end?

I think this is a pretty formidable picture.

And this is us. We rule!

Damn effing pissed.

I usually get my haircut done at Shunji Matsuo's Icon in Wisma Atria Isetan. My regular hairstylist, Michelle, was off last thurs and it was kinda silly of me to not call up and check before heading down. The receptionist/budget person (she was sitting around with a calculator doing accounts) or whoever the hell she actually was, told me that she could arrange for another hairstylist to cut my hair. I agreed to it since some people i know get their haircuts there as well, and the feedback has been so gd so far.

So she (later i found out that her name was joey) seated me and asked what hairstyle i'd like. i replied that i only needed to cut my fringe, and off she went, so i presumed she went to get a hairstylist.

but hell no! the joey person came back with a pair of scissors and nicked two clips from another hairstylist who was then protesting, 'yesterday you took my clips and nv return'.. to which joey replied, 'cut fringe only.. very fast'

Then i realised.. gosh, she was gonna cut my hair herself! I kinda didnt think it was a gd idea cuz she didnt seem like a regular hairstylist. It's like.. she didnt even have her own set of tools to begin with?! But i thought perhaps cutting a fringe wouldnt be that bad.. until she clipped my hair (without combing it) pulled up my fringe (without combing it again) and started snipping away!

Like WTF really! my parting wasnt straight, but she hadnt bothered to comb it, nor did she bother to ascertain which should be the correct parting or anything. She asked if i wanted a full fringe or wispy (those with some gaps in between so u can actually see parts of the forehead) to which i replied i wanted it full and at eyebrow level.

After cuting a bit, she asked if it was okay. i pointed out that the fringe was jutting out. She replied that it should not be a problem after she's done with the rest.

After a few more snips, she said it was done and again asked if it's okay. it was like.. as if she cupped a bowl over my head and snipped off my fringe or something. and although it was straight in the middle, it was uneven at the sides and there was a huge gap in between. seriously like wth. it was FUGLY beyond FUGLY. and so i said, 'No.. it looks too straight here.. and there is a gap here"

She continued snipping away (and i could sense she was getting pissed off) and after a few more snips asked again if it's okay very grudgingly.. all she did was to make it even shorter so i replied, "No.. It's messy and Michelle didnt cut it this way.." and then she demanded, "what is the problem with the fringe?"

I tried to explain that there is this awful and huge gap in between, that now it looks like wispy instead of a full fringe. She f*cking hell blamed it on my parting. and the most ridiculous thing was, instead of getting someone else to repair her blotched job, she continued on it. This made me f*cking pissed because all she did was to cut off more and more of my fringe and now its damn f*cking short.

So i stopped her and asked her to get someone else to do it. Joey then called another hairstylist over. This hairstylist managed to do some salvaging (although it isnt much) and even she admitted that some parts were uneven. The fringe still looks like shit now and it's waaay shorter than what i had intended for, thanks to that b***h.

Lousy skills aside, what's with that completely f*cked up attitude? Why cant she accept that she messed up instead of coercing people to accept that the haircut was OKAY? it f*cking isn't OKAY. If you ask your customer whether the haircut is okay then you gotta be prepared for a rejection, especially when the customer isnt blind enough to not notice that your skill sucks so bad. that's one hell of a big attitude problem for people like her who are in this business especially, whereby humility seems the only way to go or she'll only continue to screw up people's hair.

But like i care.

The whole point is, if you promised ur customer you'd get another hairstylist to cut her hair, then you f*cking jolly well do just that and not act gung ho by doing it urself.

And that's shunji matsuo for you guys. Remember to avoid any woman by the name of joey if you do not want to end up with a shitty hairstyle.

Don't know why i am always so outdated when it comes to things like gossips, pubbing and anime. ugh. I've only just completed naruto series - rescue sasuke arc when everyone else has progressed to watching bleach like eons ago. oh bother.

Anyway, here's my favourite character from the series.. Sabaku no Gaara! his looks may not appeal to all, but be assured that he's definitely the coolest character around. Not withstanding his amazing abilities to control sand. He became the 5th kazekage of sand village and died when akatsuki extracted the shukaku fr his body. thankfully he was resurrected if not i'll be like damn sad.

And to end off, here's a pic of a loser who tried to cosplay Gaara but failed miserably. Nowhere as cool as the real thing yea.
