Just got interested in a new manga... Paradise Kiss.


It's based on a contemporary setting in the world of fashion. The main character, yukari is a college student talent scouted to model for the label 'Paradise Kiss' in a fashion show cum competition. She had initially looked down on the team of designers, as she thought that only those who failed school pursued fashion as a trade.

She later came to the realisation that these people genuinely had a passion for fashion.. and along the way, she fell in love with the chief designer, george... subsequently, she ran away from home and dropped out of school to pursue modelling as a career...

yet another story with a sad ending though - george left for paris to further his studies in fashion design... while yukari stayed behind in japan as her modelling career has just taken off. she ended up marrying a doctor in the end..

Well, the manga is worth a read for all the fabulous costumes!
